Sunshine on Leith Harbour?
£100m project promises 300+ new jobs, accommodation for 400 students and 120 rental homes. Good news having been rather thin on the ground of late, we’re
Our story started in 1995 with a pioneering wardrobe product that went global. More than 25 years on, we’re applying the same ingenuity and rigour to the design, production and delivery of truly innovative and inspiring kitchen, bedroom and bathroom storage solutions for developers and builders.
Of course our products are things of beauty – but whether they’re major developers or small builders what our customers really love is the way everything fits seamlessly and efficiently into their project plans.
Manufacturing at our Dunstable factory, we’re agile and versatile – delivering uncompromised quality in the serious quantities developers demand, on time, every time.
From elegantly understated modern shaker-style doors to contemporary handle-less designs with opulent gloss finishes, each of our comprehensive range of kitchens is made to the highest standards.
Sliding wardrobes were how the Commonfield story began – and some 25 years on we’re still building on our substantial body of experience; still developing new styles and best practice in everything we do.
From vanity units, open shelves, sliding and traditional mirrored door cabinets to floating wall cupboards, freestanding modules and our independent panel system.
Because uncompromised quality is immensely important to us, we strive to offer the best quality, sustainably sourced materials possible. In the unlikely event that there is a defect with one of our products, it is covered for both materials and workmanship by our 10-year guarantee.
At Commonfield we are very proud of our industry accreditations in quality management (ISO 9001), in our drive for sustainability and environmental responsibility (ISO 14001 and FSC®), in Health & Safety (through ISO 45001, SMAS and CQMS) and in Fleet Management (FORS).
By definition, a great designer is individual – someone with creative flair – but there is one thing all our talented designers share: the imagination, creativity and eye for detail to bring a fresh, exciting approach to your project. Experienced in working to complex, detailed briefs, they can advise on room set-up location and layout before using the latest in 3D and CAD design software to create comprehensive drawings for pre-production approval.
Complete control of our manufacturing means we have complete capability and a degree of agility that’s hard to beat. It gives us a rare flexibility in product specification, which means we are rarely beaten on price.
What’s more, we can meet your deadlines with the shortest lead times thanks to our 40,000 sq. ft Dunstable factory, which, equipped with the latest CNC & edge banding technology is capable of making 800+ doors/carcasses a week.
Every install team is overseen by one of our highly experienced Site Supervisors – consummate professionals who are used to installing, for example, as many as 250 wardrobes in a week. They are your constant point of contact, always on hand to liaise with Site Managers, work to your construction schedule and to co-ordinate resources and allocate fitters when and where they are most effective.
Mount Anvil wanted to create a new landmark for the Vauxhall area. The project involved 470 new homes made up of a mix of studios, one, two and three-bedroom apartments set in an acre of open space. They approached Commonfield with a brief to supply and install high quality fitted wardrobes into luxury apartments at the Keybridge development.
Ballymore contacted Commonfield to discuss an exciting new project they were working on. This build comprised two residential towers of 55 and 50 storeys containing 766 homes including suites, one and two-bedroom apartments and penthouses. The brief was very clear, a wardrobe was required in every bedroom that seamlessly fitted into the high specifications of these two incredible buildings.
You don’t gain the trust of some of the UK’s leading developers without first being tried and tested against some seriously stringent criteria. And we’re pleased to say we continue to meet and even exceed the exacting demands of household name developers such as The Berkeley Group, Taylor Wimpey, Barratt Developments PLC, Wilmott-Dixon and many more.
The standards and expectations of companies of this calibre are, of course, of the highest order. The exact nature of their requirements, however, varies considerably with every project. And that’s where Commonfield comes consistently to the fore – we’re not just flexible, we’re actively focused on agility and adaptability, as you can see from these recent case studies.

A challenge, certainly, but also an opportunity for the construction sector to ensure the lesson are learnt. They’ve barely recovered from the impact of Covid and
